Family Time

I’m so proud of him my son helped me recover our kitchen chairs. He made the project go a lot faster than normal.

Every couple of years I recover my kitchen chairs. These things are ancient. Made in the 1930’s in England my mother brought the kitchen set back from England. They’ve been re-stained, and reupholstered to death. The table is in solid condition and the chairs are mostly as well other than weak joints. I really need to fix those…

This year I decided my son, age 9, was old enough to assist me. He did great helping me remove the told stained fabric, on left, and replace it with new fabric. (Which used to be a sheet. My chairs never had such fancy fabric on them 1000 thread count Egyptian cotton.)

What’s better than clean seat covers?

Spending time with my son doing an activity I used to do with my mom.

I wonder if he’s old enough to teach him how to strip and re-stain furniture…
