Thirteen Years

Today is my Wedding Anniversary. Thirteen years ago I managed to trick my husband into marrying me. While we married far younger than I’d recommend other people marrying for some reason it works for us. (I was 19 and he was 18 and fresh out of Basic)

My step-dad insists it’s because no one else would have us.

I’ve gotten some wonderful gifts over the years from him. This year is a lovely carousel that plays “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” and has a place I can put a picture of us.

But the thing that really makes you go “aw” is the inscription.

“Thirteen Years and you still make me feel like I’m walking on air.

Happy 13th Anniversary.”

Yeah, I think I’ll keep him for another 13 years.
